Hello! Welcome to my web site.

My name is Ernie Knagg. Throughout my working career(s!) I've often been reminded that less complication often results in more efficient results. This is never more true than in Web site design.

With the ever–increasing use of mobile technologies, such as hand–held devices like the Blackberry, the web is becoming available to a much wider audience.

No longer can you plan a web site thinking it will only be viewed on the latest size of monitor screen, (at ever increasing resolutions!). Now you have to consider a bigger picture (sorry about the pun).

Can your message be realistically 'received' and understood on all these new devices?

Not only is modern technology responsible for these extra considerations, but in recent years it has become a legal requirement in some parts of the world to ensure that web sites are accessible to everyone, whatever the type of equipment or software that they use, and whatever their abilities. We must no longer assume that all users on the web use a mouse; or that they can see all the pretty images on our sites — they may have turned them off(!) because they are still on a dial–up connection; or even that they are using the most modern browsers.

Sight deficiencies such as colour–blindness (in all its degrees), the elderly who often need to see larger text, or the blind, who must use text readers, should still enjoy the 'content' of any web site. Those who have problems controlling a mouse and prefer to use the keyboard, should be able to navigate smoothly around a web site.
